Q.1. What types of projects are provided assistance by PMG?

Ans. Any investment project with anticipated investment of Rs.1000 crore (US$ 150 million ) in case of domestic investment and Rs. 500 crore in case of FDI (US$ 75 million) can be assisted by PMG. Projects with lesser anticipated investment can be uploaded on the PMG portals of respective State Governments where such projects are proposed to be located.

Q.2. In what way PMG assists projects?

Ans. If an investing company during the execution of the project, faces any bottleneck or apprehends delay in obtaining approvals from Union or State Government authorities/ Agencies, it can upload such specific issues on PMG portal after logging in and PMG will take up those issues with the concerned authority for expeditious resolution.

Q.3. What kind of issues are not taken up by PMG?

Ans. Issues pending in a Court of law or Arbitrator(s), pertaining to usual business and financing risks, global macro-economic factors etc. are not taken up by PMG.

Q.4. Who should upload the issues in the PMG portal?

Ans. A senior management personnel fully familiar with the issues of the project can upload issues on the PMG portal.

Q.5. Can all pending clearances be uploaded under one issue on the PMG portal?

Ans. The matter pertaining to a particular clearance/approval should be mentioned/included as one issue on PMG portal. In other words, every clearance/difficulty should be mentioned as a separate issue so that the specific issue can be taken up with the concerned agency for resolution. The issue should be expressed briefly (word limit of 150 characters), concisely and to the point. To illustrate, clearances pertaining to land, environment and forest clearances in a project should be reported under three different issues so that these can be taken up with the respective departments online.

Q.6. Can a clearance already denied by Government agency be taken up as an issue through PMG?

Ans. In case, the investing company feels that the clearance has been denied wrongly and a request for reconsideration has been submitted to the concerned authority, the matter can be taken up through PMG for expeditious decision.

Q.7. Does PMG charge any fees for its services?

Ans. No, all services provided by PMG are completely free of cost.

Q.8. In how many days PMG provides its services?

Ans. It depends upon the nature of issue and the agency involved. As soon as the project proponent uploads the issue, the portal automatically forwards the issue to a sponsoring Ministry for verification of bona fides of the project. After such verification, the issues of the project get forwarded to PMG. On receipt of issues in PMG, they are electronically sent to the concerned Government agencies where approvals are pending. Thereafter issues are resolved through inter-ministerial meetings at the Central Govt. level and at the level of Chief Secretaries of the states.

Q.9. Whether policy reforms are being taken up by PMG with concerned authorities?

Ans. Yes, PMG also takes up generic policy issues which can facilitate setting up and execution of projects.

Q.10. Is it necessary to visit PMG before uploading of any issue on PMG portal?

Ans. No, it is not necessary to visit PMG for uploading of issues.

Q.11. Whether all issues taken up by PMG get automatically resolved?

Ans. The role of PMG is to take up the issue with the concerned authorities in Central/State Governments and expedite decisions, consistent with the laid down statutory provisions and policy framework.

Ans. A project involving investments of Rs. 1000 crore or more, or any other critical projects in sectors such as infrastructure, manufacturing, power, etc.

Ans. Yes, only one issue should be indicated in the issue text box by the Ministry/Department or Private Entrepreneur. If there are more than one issue with the same Ministry/State, user should open a new issue field for each issue.

Q.20. When Project submitted by Private Entrepreneur is reviewed by Ministry and it is found that it is already listed in the accepted Project List. How can it be rejected?

Ans. When such duplicate projects are found, it is required to check the issues, if additional issues are found, new issues can be added in the accepted project. It may be intimated to Private Entrepreneur also.

Q.21. Is it possible for Private Entrepreneur to submit the project online?

Ans. Yes, Private Entrepreneur can register first online and submit their projects with issues.

Q.22. Is it possible to see the contact detail of Ministry Nodal Officer for Private Entrepreneur?

Ans. Yes, List of Nodal Officers is available on the website.

Q.23. Can Private Entrepreneur track the progress of their projects?

Ans. Yes, they can see the progress as well as the decisions.

Q.24. Is Captcha code necessary?

Ans. Yes, due to the Security Guidelines, it is necessary to insert the code at every transaction.

Q.25. Can multiple issues be added for one project?

Ans. Yes, multiple issues can be added.

Q.26. Can Projects without any issues/problem be considered by PMG?

Ans. No, only those projects will be considered in which issues/problems are indicated .

Q.27. Can a new issue be added after consideration of projects?

Ans. Yes, a new issue can be added at any point of time.

Q.28. Is it mandatory to change the password from default given password?

Ans. Yes, it is mandatory to change the password after receiving the default password.

Q.31. Can State Nodal Officer see the issues/problem with Projects?

Ans. State Nodal Officer can see only those issues which are relating to their State.

Q.32. How can I login after making a wrong attempt?

Ans. After 5 wrong attempts, the account gets locked for 2 Hours. Right password will only be accepted after 2 Hours.

Q.33. Can One Ministry sponsor the project to another Ministry?

Ans. No.
